September 2023 - Grasshopper Inn - A great place to stay when visiting Ogunquit.

The Grasshopper Inn is a fabulous place to stay. It is new, beautifully constructed, welcoming, and clean, with spacious, well-appointed suites. It is located a short walk to beaches and downtown and close to several great restaurants. Since we were celebrating our anniversary, they had some nice surprises waiting for us. I highly recommend it whether you are saying for a night or two, or a longer vacation.

June 2023 - “A Modern Take on the Classic Maine Inn”

We stayed at the Grasshopper Inn during the middle of June, 2023, which is usually when everything in Ogunquit is getting ramped up for the summer. Booking was done online, and check-in instructions were sent along, including where to park. Check-in was quick, and informative with a rundown of how everything worked, and making sure we were all set. Note that if you're checking in after 5PM, there is not someone at the front desk, so be sure to have good contact information for them to reach you via email/text.

Our room was 101 (Mare), and was spotlessly clean. It had a modern feel to it (whites/greys as the main theme), but still had some of the touches of a Maine seaside inn. If I could make one suggestion about the decor, some wall art would add a bit of vibrancy to the room. The fridge was a dorm fridge large enough to hold cans/bottles of soda, and worked great. There's no freezer, but it was not needed. The room has a pod style coffee maker, and some glassware, but no microwave. There is a microwave out in the lobby, if needed.

The wardrobe had enough space for out clothes, with 2 large drawers. That was enough room for 2 people for a 3-4 day stay. There's a patio out front with 2 chairs and a small table, facing the main street. The bathroom is quite spacious, with a stand up shower that did not lack for hot water. The bed was comfortable, and we had no issues with the temperature in the room, despite it not being summer weather outside. There were also plenty of outlets to plug into, though the bedside ones could have used a USB style as an option on the outlets.

The TV uses Apple TV for channels, and worked for what we wanted to watch at night. It also has other streaming options available, if you want to sign in using your own account(s). WiFi access was easy, and fast.

The lobby/breakfast area was as clean as the room, and has a couple of vending machines, if you're in need of a late night snack. Typical vending machine prices, but one had Ben & Jerry's ice cream. Breakfast is served until 10AM, and you should not miss it. It's a continental breakfast style, muffins/fruit/juices, but you can also get a big waffle made and dropped off at your table.

This is a good time to mention that the staff at the inn are top notch, and enjoyable to talk to. For an inn with only 7 rooms, it runs in a very professional and courteous manner, like you'd expect from a larger hotel. A lot of care looks to have gone into the inn, and the staff keep it that way.

Parking spaces are assigned per room, and I did see a loop charger on the far end space next to ours. There are tables out in front where you can sit, if you wanted to have a snack or a drink. The doors are all operated by a key code, which makes it easier to get into your room, but your code also opens the public-facing doors, which is another layer of security. Our patio door was not that style, and locked from the inside, so there were no worries there, though we did have an incident of a couple coming up and looking into our room through the door, as it is on the street level. Maybe they were curious, or had the wrong door to the inn?

With all of the praise, there are a few points for people to keep in mind when booking, though none of them were a markdown for us. The first, as others have mentioned, is that the inn is right on the main street. That is Route 1, and is a single lane road in each direction. Traffic is constant from the morning until later at night. Ogunquit in general is a busy place for traffic, so any inn along the roads will have traffic noise. We did not have trouble sleeping, as the traffic was not loud, just noticeable, with a car going by every 10-15 seconds at night. I don't know if the upper level rooms, or rooms facing the back can hear the traffic as much, but it's something to keep in mind. A fire pit would have been nice to have outside, but the location and liability may prevent it. There is no daily housekeeping during your stay, which was fine with us. We don't need fresh linens and towels every single day. If you need supplies, there is an "extras" closet on the 2nd floor. While it's a 1/2 mile to the main shops, the location is good if you want to go to the Greenery Cafe, The Omelette Factory, The Front Yard, Brickyard Hollow, etc. all within a couple of minutes of walking distance. We walk a lot on vacation, so the distance wasn't an issue for us. The location does make it easy to travel by car if you're going to see the sights.

All in all, it was a very nice stay, and the room was a great place to sit and unwind after being out all day. We look forward to staying there again.

September 2023 - “Lovely alternative to hotels”

This is not a hotel but truly a boutique Inn and it’s lovely! There are only seven rooms which makes for a very quiet experience. No doors heard opening and closing, no loud voices in the hallways. Our room consisted of a spacious two queen bedroom with very comfortable beds and pillows, kitchenette, and separate sitting room. There are large flat screens in both rooms. The bathroom is spacious with a large and modern walk-in shower. As seniors we appreciate walk-in showers as opposed to combo tubs. Everything is immaculate. The decor is modern and fresh. There are windows in every room letting in lots of light. The common area is large with lots of windows and light, looking out at greenery and the main road. The coffee is excellent. The breakfast is standard with bagels, muffins, etc. You can request a waffle which will be prepared for you. The location is walkable to the town center. Only downside if you have issues with stairs, there is no elevator and only two first floor rooms. This was such a nice alternative to your typical hotel.

May 2023 - Fantastic Stay

I cannot recommend Grasshopper Inn enough! The Inn is only a few years old but looks brand new. Our room did not have any signs of wear and tear and it seemed like we were the first ones to ever stay in the room because of how clean it was! Each room has a reserved parking spot which is a great benefit. The location is great only a quick 5 minute walk to the downtown area with a ton of restaurants and stores, and a quick 15 minute walk will lead you to the beautiful beach. All of the staff that we encountered were helpful and friendly. We are looking forward to returning to Grasshopper Inn.

October 2022 - Perfect 10

Great overnight stay at the Grasshopper Inn in Ogunquit Maine. I’m an old Hotel man
that just retired after 53 years in the Hospitality Business and I give this lovely Inn a
Perfect 10. All the staff was very helpful and kind and all the public areas were very
clean and the breakfast buffet was delicious. And my guest room was spacious, nicely
furnished and super clean and my compliments to the housekeeping staff. And it’s just a
short 10 minute walk to the main shopping district of Ogunquit too. And a special Thank You
to all the Hotel Staff for making my stay so enjoyable, you really made me feel at home and
welcome. So here’s the Perfect Place to stay when you visit Ogunquit

September 2022 - Wonderful Stay

Absolutely fabulous Inn. 5* facilities, 10 * service. We stayed in the Seaglass suite which was modern, clean and huge. Large living room with a mini fridge with complementary water. Large bathroom and shower. Lots of hot water and good water pressure. Lots of towels and high end toiletries. Large bedroom with a king size bed and a soft comforter. A/C and heat worked great. Large HD TV with lots of channels. Best thing was the friendly and helpful staff, particularly Melanie and Patricia. 10 minute walk into town. Continental breakfast was goo, Highly recommended

August 2022 - Amazing Experience

We stayed at the Grasshopper Inn during 5 days. The hotel is beautiful, clean, and well designed. Our room was large with high ceiling.

The staff was so thoughtful. They really make you feel at home. Breakfasts were also good. Our kids loved the pancakes.
Location wise, the Grasshopper is very convenient. The downtown and beach are close by.

It was a wonderful experience.

July 2022 - Found a winner in Ogunquit!

Loved this new property! Great location that was walkable to everything. Clean, comfortable, well-appointed room that was anything but cookie cutter. Super high ceilings, beautiful spa-like bathroom with walk-in shower, balcony and a modern kitchenette are just a few of the unique features. And the staff is friendly and always available to answer a question or offer a recommendation - Laurie was a particular stand-out!!! Can’t wait to visit the Grasshopper Inn again soon!

June 2022 - Great Grasshopper

With its spacious rooms, large TVs, enormous beds and vast array of amenities, the Grasshopper Inn is the last word in comfort and cleanliness. Blessed with a charming staff ever so eager to please, it is a short walk from Ogunquit center but far enough away to be removed from any possible hubbub. A continental breakfast is available, and for those who seek a larger menu, Oquinqui's most popular breakfast restaurant sits just across the street. I want to go back!

April 2022 - Tremendous Inn. Reasonable price.

Great Inn just down from the main drag. Short walk to downtown. We didn’t drive all weekend. The Inn is tremendous. Very new and all top of the line throughout. Large suite with kitchenette. Very comfortable throughout. Continental breakfast each morning and a very friendly and accommodating staff. The only issue we experienced was the TV. They use Apple TV streaming and to get regular cable you select the Spectrum App. We kept getting signed out so we couldn’t access it until staff reinterred the password. This occurred several times. Finally, they provided it to me so we could sign ourselves back in the next few times. It may have been just our TV that did this but not sure. Otherwise we absolutely loved it and loved Ogunquit. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit.

November 2021 - Great inn option in Ogunquit

We enjoyed our brief one night stay at the Grasshopper Inn. The room was large and clean. The staff was excellent and added some thoughtful personal touches in recognition of our anniversary. We were pleased with the selections available in the enhanced continental breakfast. The walk to the ocean and the town's attractions was reasonable. We will return to the Grasshopper when we visit Ogunquit again.

October 2021 - Our new Ogunquit go-to!

I'm so glad I found the Grasshopper Inn while searching for a place to stay in Ogunquit. The Inn did NOT disappoint! Inside and outside is beautiful, and looks exactly like the pictures on the website (this is definitely not always the case!). We arrived after check-in time and had no issues accessing our room thanks to their high-tech key system and very clear instructions. We were pleasantly surprised by some little extras for our anniversary as well! The room was very spacious, comfortable, clean, and had lots of little details that I appreciated such as a box fan, outlets and shelves on each side of the bed, waters in the fridge, clear instructions for the remote/tv, and a dedicated make-up towel (sounds silly, but it's these little touches that made our stay even better!). Location is a little further north from downtown than we usually stay, but with Greenery Cafe and The Front Yard across the street, we were very happy where we were! Still an easy walk to downtown and to the beach. We comfortably walked the Marginal Way to Perkin's Cove and back to the Inn. Extra bonus is the vending machine with ice cream! Overall a beautiful new, clean, quiet, modern boutique Inn - we will definitely be back!!

October 2021 - Simplicity. Proximity. Relaxing. Accommodating. Modern.

Stayed one night. Our accommodations were wonderful, and needs met and exceeded.

Initially we were concerned by the very light touch check-in and keyless experience. I’m the end, we felt additional safety through the way the facility is managed, and found the considerate layout had our needs well met. We stayed in a suite and it was s p a c I o u s.

The staff was attentive when needed and accommodated our makeshift afternoon wine and cheese party with all the needed utensils, silverware and plates.

A reasonable continental breakfast is offered that included fresh made waffles. We had one member of our party who was GF and were delighted when the staff made a fresh batch of GF batter to make a fresh waffle to meet the need. Above and beyond!

Location is convenient to the ocean, shops and Marginal Way.

Excellent stay!

October 2021 - Nice, new establishment with a bad breakfast

As others have mentioned- For the price alone, breakfast is awful. How do you run out of butter- The store bought muffins were hard and the breakfast, which is why you book a bed and breakfast, was just terrible The rooms are very nice but oddly configured
Overall we wish them well but - please listen to the reviewers - if most say the breakfast is terrible, update! Other ‘bed and breakfasts’ offer fresh baked or at least bakery purchased. A bowl of scrambled eggs maybe? Step your game up Grasshopper! You have the ability to be the best in Ogunquit!

September 2021 - Beautiful place but still need some improvements

Beautiful new Inn with spacious rooms, great beds, everything is keyless and very high tech which was cool. The room had a big area for what one would suppose would be a kitchenette but it only had a refrigerator. There was no coffee pot in the room which was bothersome. The TV was nice but only facing the living room- nothing in the bedroom. Heat and cooling was a continual problem. We just couldn’t get it adjusted. It was either too hot or too cold.
The street noise was bothersome also. There was a nice continental breakfast but surprisingly it lacked essentials like butter for the waffles. Staff was very kind, available and helpful. Town was about 1/2 mile away. The beach was another 1/2 mile. While a great place to stay there were some glaring areas that could easily be improved.

September 2021 - Clean, quiet, new, super-friendly

Staff were all VERY friendly, helpful, attentive. Room was immaculate, very comfortable and large. Bed was heavenly. Two king-sized beds plus a pull-out couch in the living area. Small kitchenette with sink and refrigerator, small table and two chairs. Bathroom was large with lots of counter space. Plenty of towels, hairdryer, shampoo/conditioner/lotion/soap. Balcony off living room. Common area/lobby was spacious with lots of chairs/tables and a tv. Large table in the dining area plus several smaller tables. Breakfast was continental with bagels, doughnuts, waffles to order, yogurt, fruit, cereals, beverages. Outside patio with large tables and plenty of chairs. Parking is under a roof and out of the elements. Although it is on the main street, it was very quiet, particularly at night. Two machines with snacks/drinks available 24/7. Other sitting area on second floor. Staff was helpful, friendly and sincere. REALLY enjoyed our stay and would book again if I am in the area. We had 10 family members there for the weekend.

July 2021 - A modern approach to Bed and Breakfast

Although the modern world and I are not a good match, the rooms at The Grasshopper Inn are so beautiful and the pastels create such a peaceful energy, that the Inn grew on me, in a good way. My mother and sister still talk about their Maine suite. I typically struggle with technology. Not here. The keyless entry was easy to use. The temperature of the room even easier to set. The television guided me for easy access to my Youtube account. Although, I prefer the traditional old school B@B, Grasshoppers rooms were so well thought out, that I did not at all mind. The greeting was a bit disappointing. Ultimately though, all staff were extremely helpful. I was disappointed with the food. The joy of a B@B is the personal touches. There were no home made muffins or cookies. Coffee and espresso were available but it was Keurig. Also, there is no chef so breakfast was a major disappointment. We were told they are searching for a chef. I hope they find one, sooner rather than later. It is called a Bed and Breakfast, so breakfast is important. Sure, they made waffles but what separates great B@B's is a creative morning meal. Boxes of cereal, muffins made elsewhere (limit is one???) etc etc can not continue. They are a new venue. I am sure they will find a creative chef. Still, I felt extremely relaxed throughout my 2 night stay. Ultimately, not much else matters.

July 2021 - Melaney’s Birthday Weekend

The Grasshopper Inn made it a wonderful experience for our extended families of the Fodera and the Worley's and our children and their children and their children. I counted 56 Fine-looking people in the “Birthday picture” that Zachette took of our group. Great picture!

Comfort, clean, quiet, and new at the Grasshopper Inn in Ogunquit, ME! Keyless entry everything coded and no people interaction unless needed. Everything you could possibly want that flavor of New England is literally within walking distance! You know you’re in New England when you’re in Ogunquit, ME!

July 2021 - Beautiful, relaxing hotel

Grasshopper Inn is new for 2021. It’s nice to have a modern, sparkling clean hotel option in the Ogunquit area where most of hotels are older (and many are frankly in need of updating). There are only 7 units and each one has a spacious suite feel. Covered parking and keyless entries was appreciated! It’s a short walk downhill to Ogunquit and a 15 minute walk to the beach. Colors are soothing, furniture and bedding are extremely comfortable. The bathrooms are large and spa-like. Everyone on the second floor gets a balcony with chairs where it’s nice to sit in the morning. The lobby is beautiful and is a nice place to gather. There is a continental breakfast with decent offerings from 7-10am. Unfortunately, there are no low carb options so we had very little to eat. Next time, I will ask ahead of time if they can provide me with some other protein options. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. If you need restaurant or activity suggestions, they are more than willing to help. Overall, an amazing stay. Highly recommended! Keep up the great work, owners & staff at Grasshopper!

July 2021 - Relaxing location close to town center

Fantastic Boutique Inn in the heart of Ogunquit. Seven rooms of different configurations and varying sizes with a fantastic common area that can be used not just for their continental breakfast but for your take out meals or just socializing. The staff is excellent and very welcoming.

June 2021 - A night away

Everything about the Grasshopper Inn was perfect from start to finish... the hotel is beautiful. Very airy and clean with simple neutral touches. The room was very spacious, very quiet and updated. The location might be the best thing - an easy 5 minute walk to downtown, ten if you're taking your time! However, the Inn is sandwiched between excellent restaurants (Food for Thought and The Front Yard) so you never need to touch your car unless you want to.

Finally, the staff was incredibly helpful and kind. A big shout out to Laurie who worked an evening shift. She was so kind and caring and helpful when my friend had dropped something causing a very obvious stain (sorry!)... She helped ease a panicked situation for my friend and couldn't have been more calm and nice!

I highly recommend this place! It would be a beautiful escape in the off season for sure but if you're in the mood for the fun and beaches of Ogunquit in summer - you can't find a better spot!

June 2021 - Charming Ogunquit Inn

We were delighted to be among the inaugural guests at the new Grasshopper Inn in Ogunquit ME. The inn is beautifully appointed with spacious suites to include high quality bedding and technology. There were welcoming cookies and a mini refrigerator stocked with still and sparkling water. Every need was addressed immediately. Breakfast was ample with complimentary fruit and coffee throughout the day.

Pauline was more than helpful and very friendly to all the guests; a pleasure to interact with each day.

The Inn is off a main road, however road noise was not a factor. It was easy to walk to dinner , shops and the beach, as well as access the beautiful Marginal Way, a mile long walk along the cliffs of Maine.

No doubt the Grasshopper Inn will be a highly sought out destination.

June 2021 - Our new favorite!

We just returned from 2 nights in Ogunquit and stayed at The Grasshopper Inn. The hotel is brand new and in such a great location. We were only half a mile away in either direction to everywhere we wanted to go and were able to walk to dinner. The room was spotless and I loved the vaulted ceilings. It is advertised as having a kitchenette in the rooms but I’d consider it more of a wet bar than anything else since there wasn’t a microwave or toaster in the room. They did have one of each downstairs in the breakfast area available for communal use. We had a balcony that looked over the main road, and while we could hear the traffic, it didn’t bother us at all. We quite liked people watching while we had a beverage on the balcony. The staff were all excellent and so welcoming. Pauline made some delicious waffles for breakfast, yum! We’ll be staying here from now on when we come to Ogunquit, no question

June 2021 - Ogunquit, ME Trip

Michelle and her staff were first rate in every single way. Beautifully updated, fresh and new. The attention to detail is obvious— from the high quality sheets, pillows and technology in room (Apple TV and Bluetooth audio) to the friendly staff, continental breakfast and overall accommodations. And the location is right in the heart of Ogunquit. I’d put this facility up against anywhere and you will love it for sure!

June 2021 - Perfect doesn’t begin to describe it

Everything about the Grasshopper Inn was lovely. It started with a most incredible hospitality team. We were greeted with smiles, warm wishes, and an unexpected anniversary basket with some thoughtful goodies. From start to finish, the team not only met, but often anticipated every possible need. My wife went to the front desk asking for a wipe after spilling something on her shirt. Within minutes the garment was in the wash, then the dryer, and back to our room in less than an hour. While all the staff were great, Pauline was extremely special. She and my wife formed a quick bond and Pauline became our Maine mom for the weekend!

The common areas of the Inn are spacious, bright, and inviting. We enjoyed the continental breakfast, which was prepared and presented with safety in mind. Our room, the Bay Suite was awesome. The ceilings were high and sleeping area separated from the main living space, giving the room a very spacious vibe. I spent most of the time reading on the deck, which had two chairs and a small table. What was nice about this suite is that it was not facing the main road, so we didn't get much traffic noise. Extra linens and supplies were located in a guest-accessible closet, which I found thoughtful and convenient.

The Inn is in a great location to explore the area by foot or car. The beach is a 10-15 minute walk and the entrance to the breathtaking Marginal Way is roughly the same. All of the shops and restaurants of downtown Ogunquit are a short 5-10 minute walk, with three restaurants nearby even closer than that. If you're looking to do some local exploring, there are loads of cool thrift and antique stores within a few miles, Kennebunkport was about 20 minutes away, and you could get to Portland within an hour. Without question, the Grasshopper Inn is an ideal place to stay if you're visiting the area. From the staff, to the rooms, and the location, you will absolutely enjoy your stay.

June 2021 - Weekend stay

Beautiful clean setting. Loved the art in the building. The room was very warm even with the fan running and windows open on a very cold windy weekend. I also found that the shower did get the floor wet. I love the little fridge and the waters. The bed was very comfortable with the separate sitting area to read or watch TV
